The Southern Sydney Folk Club is a place for people who enjoy playing and listening to original folk music. We host regular concerts to showcase local, national and (occasionally) international performers in an intimate and personal setting. Check our upcoming events page to find out what’s coming up next!
We also give our members and guests a safe space to share their music – often original compositions – and develop performance skills in regular group sessions. We aim to foster musical interest and talent within the community by holding regular instrumental sessions.
We hope to see you soon at one of our events or sessions!

Come along and meet other folk music enthusiasts. You can share some music with us, join in with the group or just enjoy the company and some great music! This is a relaxed session, and we always make time for a cuppa and a chat.
Come along and learn some tunes in a relaxed session for beginners. Bring your instrument and a stand (if you have one). Sheet music will be provided. This is perfect if you are learning a new instrument, want to learn some new tunes, or want to have fun playing music with other people. And there is always time for a cuppa and a chat.
Become a member! The yearly subscription will entitle you to discounted entry at club concerts (which always include a lovely afternoon tea and a chance to chat). Membership fees are based on the calendar year and are $20 for an individual and $30 for a family (2 adults and school-age kids). Links below.
The SSFC committee for 2021 is Wally Byrne (President), Julie Wales (Secretary), Peter Phelps (Treasurer), Mark Huon, Mark Wilkes, Matt Allison and Margaret Bradford. If you have any queries or suggestions, please contact us.
